About me

My mom taught me how to make a stitch when I was about 6 or 7, and ever since then I've had an interest in sewing, though sometimes it lies dormant for long periods of time. One of my first makes was my prom dress for senior year. Since moving to New York, my easy access to the garment district has really intensified my interest in sewing. My primary interest right now is making dresses because I feel that they are the highest fabulousness-to-effort ratio, but as I become more skilled, I hope to be able to make a whole wardrobe of self-designed clothes that look polished and professional!

I decided to join in the sewing blogosphere because showing off my finished projects and babbling on about them seemed too much fun to resist!  I'll be using this blog to share my makes with people and any random thoughts rattling around in my head.  Also, make sure to check out the Resources page via the top bar for a list of online places that I've found super-helpful in my sewing!

I put a widget in my sidebar that shows my stash status, which I will update as I acquire and use fabric. I think it will be a fun little tool to help me get a perspective on my rate of sewing vs. my rate of bingeing :)
